BAMRA (Bleecker Area Merchants' and Residents' Association) is more than a block association and more than a merchants' association - it brings the two together for a stronger community. BAMRA endeavors to create an atmosphere of cooperation that enhances the quality of life for residents and the success of our area's small businesses. BAMRA provides recommendations to the community board regarding liquor licenses, sidewalk cafes, and other activities that impact the neighborhood and provides a forum for residents and merchants to discuss their issues and concerns.

Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30pm, except in July and August or when holidays conflict. Meetings are usually held in the community room at 505 LaGuardia Place.  If you would like to be added to our mailing list for updates and meeting noticess, please send an e-mail to

Voting membership is open to all area residents and merchants and associate (non-voting) membership to anyone interested in participating in our activities.

Dues: $10.00 residents and associates
           $50.00 Merchants
